Chanel Spring 2010 Collection

In the Chanel Spring 2010 Collection presentation, a league of sweet pastels and a sampling of silver were evident on the iconic runway. Karl Lagerfeld masterfully created another set of classic Chanel suits that ranged from dazzling coats to eye-catching draped gowns that every lady would like to take with them. The Chanel Haute Couture Spring 2010 collection evoked femininity and romance. The pieces are very airy with transparent like spring white clouds and wild flowers.

For the first time, Karl Lagerfeld has come up with a collection that does not include black or navy. The Chanel Spring 2010 Collection was heavy with beige, pale pink, silver, yellow and white. Gold buttons was notably absent from Karl Lagerfeld’s Chanel Spring 2010 Collection. The fabrics featured chiffon, organza and satin while adornments were typically rosette and embroidery.

Karl Lagerfeld abhors futurism, to him fashion is always about the present, the here and now.  Although, the pearl-laden silver shoes does look a little like something from the future.  He is also not fond of avant-garde fashion, he does not believe in clothing for a future that may not happen.

Chanel is a Paris-based fashion house recognized as one of the most stylish name in haute couture. The company was founded by Coco Chanel. The company specializes in luxury items such as cosmetics, handbags, haute couture, perfumery, and ready-to-wear clothing among others. The Chanel brand has become a world renown name in the luxury and haute couture fashion industry. Based on Forbes survey, the House of Chanel is mutually owned by Gerard Wertheimer and Alain Wertheimer who are the grandchildren of Pierre Wertheimer, an early Chanel partner.

Taking a look the Chanel Spring 2010 Collection show, the clearest design in the jewelry collection was that of proportion. A huge 19th century styled corsage brooch was an inspiration to Karl Lagerfeld. He envisioned a more contemporary styling and smaller interpretation of the brooch. The beads and embroideries in Lagerfeld’s design was arranged closer to the face giving a more up to date styling for the jewelry.

The top adornment of one of the Chanel Spring 2010 Collection dress was designed using sparkling white crystal chain. This collier, used as a neckline or adornment, was brilliantly done by Karl Lagerfeld himself. Among the other items in the Chanel Spring 2010 Collection are the filament insecta scatter pins. The pins would seem to float on the elegant printed dresses or the timeless relaxed coats. This type of design was elevated to an art form during the 1940s and 1950s.

John Galliano enthralled us with the romantic feel of his small waist clothes with cascading skirt and crisp jackets in this Chanel Spring 2010 Collection. The clothes were coupled with antique-inspired ornaments of the grandest proportion.

The Chanel Spring 2010 Collection has a ‘neon baroque’ look, giving the feeling of stylish, grace and complexity. A few of the outfits seem to be ideal wedding dresses. The giant sized bows attached to the models’ hair will remind you of past centuries women who were fortunate enough to be dressed in these to balls.
