It’s your son’s birthday and you’re wondering what to make? Or perhaps, its Christmas, and you don’t know which desert to settle for? Or it could be that you are just plain bored and feel like cooking something delicious? Well, whatever the occasion, nothing spells ‘yummy’ quite like chocolate fudge. Although chocolate fudge is extremely easy to make, it is equally easy to slip here and there resulting in the “something’s missing” feeling one so often gets.
However, lay your fears to rest. Here is a sure shot way of ensuring that your chocolate fudge is perfect beyond expectations.
One must begin with the basic paraphernalia required to start making the fudge. A heavy and relatively big stainless steel pot, a large heavy-duty wooden spoon, and a large sized stainless steel mixing bowl should do the trick.
Ingredients you will require go as follows
• 20 oz. Belgian chocolates. It does not matter the size of the bars, as long as it all adds up to about 20 oz.
• 1 cup butter, softened to be of room temperature. You will also need some extra as your pans need to be buttered as well.
• 1-12 oz. of chocolate chips from a good brand.
• 4 cups of white sugar (granulated).
• 1 and 2/3 cups of evaporated milk
• 2 teaspoons of real vanilla
• 2 and a ½ cups of mini marshmallows
• 1 pound of chopped nuts
Break the Belgian chocolates in the stainless steel bowl and add the butter. Set aside after adding the chocolate chips.
Take your pans and grease them with butter. In a large pot or saucepan, mix the sugar, milk and marshmallows. Keep the flame at medium heat and bring to boil while stirring continuously. It is important to note that scraping the sides of the pots while stirring can make the candy taste grainy, hence it is best to avoid doing this.
Stir lightly and cook for around 7 minutes. Remove from heat and pour into bowl with chocolates and butter.
Stir and blend with a wooden spoon. Keep stirring till some of the shine on the candy is lost. Stir in the vanilla and the nuts. Pour into the buttered pans and let it cool completely. Cut into pieces using a hot knife.
That is about all it takes to make the perfect chocolate fudge made from Belgian chocolates. So what are you waiting for? Get started on the perfect chocolate fudge now!
