Europe’s Top Luxury Estates

Europe has the Earth’s second-smallest land mass area (by continent). It has approximately 10,180,000 square kilometres. That is about seven percent of the Earth’s land area. Europe has the third largest population, larger than North America or South America, with a population upwards of 700 million. But Europe can boast of the highest priced luxury estate in the world.

Monaco’s Avenue Princesse Grace. The highest priced estates in the world, can be found in the small sovereign city-state of Monaco. Located in South Western Europe, prospective owners should expect to shell out a minimum of $120,000 per square meter on the iconic street.  The high-end residential properties, with one of the most amazing views in the planet, can go as high as $190,000 per square meter. Though recently, asking prices are being discounted by as much as twenty percent.

Chemin de Saint-Hospice, France. Not too far down from Monaco’s Avenue Princesse Grace is the charming Chemin de Saint-Hospice of Cap Ferrat. It is the 2nd most costly luxury estate, top properties in the area sell for as much as $100,000 per square meter. Chemin de Saint-Hospice has a winding road through the south of France where its fifteen houses displays stunning Mediterranean vista.

Kensington Palace Gardens, London.  Kensington Palace Gardens is still the fourth most expensive luxury estate in the world. It is prices at around $65,000 per square meter. This road houses a number of embassies. Two properties have been sold privately on Kensington Palace Gardens in 2009. Estate agent Savills states that demand is high for London’s most elite address.

Avenue Montaigne, Paris. The Avenue Montaigne includes the official residence of President Nicolas Sarkozy, the Élysée Palace. It ranks fifth among the most expensive luxury estate.  Real estate agents say despite the crisis this luxury estate has been almost no change in the price in 2009. The price for Avenue Montaigne is $54,000 per square meter. Avenue Montaigne is one-third of the Paris Golden Triangle, which includes Avenue Champs-Elysees and Avenue Georges V.

Via Suvretta, Switzerland.  The snake-like Via Suvretta of St Moritz moved up to sixth place in this year’s list of luxury estate. The only one in this list that saw prices climb up by eighteen percent. Real estate agents believe the rise in the price, currently at $45,000 per square meter, is cause by the super wealthy looking to move to Switzerland. The Via Suvretta is to be found in the elite St Mortiz ski resort.

Via Romazzino, Sardinia. Via Romazzino of Porto Cervo is where vacation homes of lots of Italy’s richest people. Via Romazzino is also all the rage with the Russian elite. The luxury estate of Via Romazzino is on the list of the most expensive real estate for the first time. The price on the exclusive resort of Porto Cervo is at least $42,000 per square meter.

Ostozhenka Street, Moscow, Russia. Ostozhenka Street prices have come down recently but still are in the elite list of luxury estate.  Russian real estate agents estimate properties on Ostozhenka will be at least $35,000 square meter but that’s less than what it was last year.
