Solitaire is a particular type of card game designed for a single player. The player uses a normal deck of cars with 52 cards to play Solitaire games. In the recent times, the popularity of Solitaire Games has increased mainly due to the advent of computers and the internet.

An open card from any pile can be placed on another open card from another pile if the former is one rank lower and of a different color from the latter. If the open card is an ace, a new pile can be started. The objective of this solitaire game is to arrange all the cards in four piles, each for one suit.
Another popular type is the Free Cell solitaire that can be found in almost all computers there days. This is a very simple game in which all the cards are placed in decks with the cards facing upwards. Only the topmost open card can be moved either into one of the four “free cells” which is an open space that can hold only one card at a time or on another open card with one rank higher of the same suit. The objective of the fame is to arrange the cards in four decks according to the suit.
Another popular form of solitaire game is the spider solitaire which uses two decks of cards arranged in ten piles. The topmost card in each pile is places face up. When one of the face up cards is of one rank lower and the same suit as another face up card, it can be places on the second card. A king can be used to start a new pile when all the cards in one pile have been moved. The game objective is the same as Klondike.
The popularity of Solitaire Games is mainly because they are easy to understand and also they have very simple rules. Nowadays, many websites offer all kinds of solitaire games that can be played at will. They don’t demand much time and attention. So this game can be played anywhere and anytime such as taking a break from work or studies. It can even be played as a competition between two players using a time limit in the form of a race.
