The creation of the World’s Largest Hot Chocolate was headed by Stephen Bruce S3’s owner and founder with ample help from S3’s kitchen staffers. The chocolate cup concoction follows S3’s traditional recipe only in a slightly amplified version.  To be exact the World’s Largest Hot Chocolate uses twelve pounds of cocoa powder that was blended from fourteen different types of cocoa.  It also uses eight quarts of heavy cream, and one pound of finely grated French chocolate.

The World’s Largest Hot Chocolate is available to any S3 patron to order. Stephen Bruce added the giant cup into the restaurants regular menu. The proceeds from ordering the World’s Largest Hot Chocolate go to New York City charities. The regular cup of chocolate costs about $6, the World’s Largest Hot Chocolate is about a hundred times bigger so you can do the math on how much the World’s Largest Hot Chocolate will cost you.  A wild guess would be around $600, that still will not be the most pricey item in the menu of S3. The most expensive item in the menu would be the Golden Opulence Sundae laden with 23K edible-gold-leaf. The Golden Opulence Sundae is officially the world’s most expensive sundae at $1000. The sundae requires a 48 hours advance reservation.

On the downside, the World’s Largest Hot Chocolate has approximately 19,000 calories even before the whipped cream is added.
